Publishing Options
Publish immediately, save as draft, set categories and tags, and configure other publishing settings.
After an article is generated, you have several options for how and when to publish it to WordPress or Shopify.
Publish status
- Published — Goes live immediately and becomes indexable by search engines
- Draft — Saved to WordPress for further editing before publishing
Categories & tags
Before publishing, select a WordPress category and tags from your site's existing taxonomy. RankWriting reads your site's category list automatically.
Author
Assign the article to any user on your WordPress site. Useful for multi-author blogs where content attribution matters.
What gets written to WordPress
RankWriting writes the following fields via the REST API:
- Post title
- Post content (HTML)
- Meta Title (compatible with Yoast / RankMath)
- Meta Description
- Featured image
- Categories and tags
- Author
After publishing
Once published, the article shows a Published status in your Posts list. Click it to open the live WordPress URL directly.
Re-publish
If you edit an article after it's been published, clicking Publish again will update the existing WordPress post — it won't create a duplicate.
