Research Process
Before writing, RankWriting researches the target topic to ensure the article contains current, accurate information.
How research works
- ·The system builds search queries from your keywords and topic
- ·It fetches and analyzes recent relevant web pages (news, blogs, authoritative media)
- ·The AI extracts key facts, data points, and trustworthy sources
- ·This information is structured and injected into the generation prompt
What gets extracted
- ·Industry statistics and figures (with source domains)
- ·Recent trends and news events
- ·Expert opinions and quotable statements
- ·A list of credible sources (used for external link suggestions)
Credibility filtering
Sources are scored for credibility. Only high-credibility sources (score ≥ 5) are used. Low-quality and content-farm sites are filtered out.
How research appears in the prompt
Research results are injected with a strict instruction:
Use only the facts from the research data above. Do not fabricate statistics or quotations.
This ensures every specific figure in the article traces back to a real source.
Quick mode vs. Research mode
- ·Quick mode — Skips web research and generates directly from the AI's training knowledge. Faster, but less current.
- ·Research mode — Full research pipeline. Higher accuracy and fresher data, recommended for topics where up-to-date statistics matter.
