How we handle your data, content ownership, and GDPR compliance information.
What data we collect
- Account information — Email address and name (managed by Clerk)
- Usage data — Generated article records and quota usage
- Site information — URLs of connected WordPress and Shopify sites
- Content — Keywords you enter and articles generated from them
What we don't collect
- WordPress passwords or admin credentials
- Visitor data from your website
- Payment card information (handled entirely by Stripe — we never see it)
Content ownership
All content you generate on RankWriting belongs to you. We make no copyright claims and will never use your content for:
- AI model training
- Content redistribution
- Sharing with third parties
Data retention
- Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account
- After account deletion, data is purged from backups within 30 days
- You can request a data export or deletion at any time from your account settings
GDPR compliance
RankWriting complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Processing is based on contractual necessity or legitimate interest
- We obtain clear consent before processing data
- Data access and deletion requests are honored
- Processing activities are documented
